Manage the Presto Connector
The Composer Presto connector connects to a Presto server. It has been verified with the Presto server version 319. While other versions have not been verified, you can try to connect to a different Presto server version. In this case, we encourage you to use our driver drop-in feature to drop-in the Presto JDBC driver of the matching version.
You might use the Composer Presto connector to connect to a Presto server on which the Presto connector is installed. After the connection is made, you would then be able to visualize and explore data in the Cassandra database using the Composer client.
The Presto connector has been validated and tested with Cassandra and Postgres databases only. Composer cannot guarantee bug-free operation of the Presto connector with other databases, although you can try to use Presto to connect to them. Composer may officially add additional database support for Presto at some point in the future.
Before you can establish a connection from Composer to the Presto server, the Presto connector server must be installed, configured and enabled. See Manage Connectors and Connector Servers for general instructions and Connect to Presto for details specific to the Presto connector.
After the connector has been set up, you can create data source configurations that specify the necessary connection information and identify the data you want to use. See Manage Data Source Configurations for more information. After data sources are configured, they can be used to create dashboards and visuals from your data. See Create Dashboards.
