Delete Derived Fields
You can delete derived fields from a data source using the data source configuration wizard or using the Metric dialog, Group dialog, or Filters sidebar on a dashboard.
To delete derived fields from a data source while editing the data source configuration:
Edit the data source configuration in the UI. See Edit a Data Source Configuration.
In the data source configuration wizard, select the Fields tab.
Scroll to the Derived Fields table at the bottom of the Fields tab.
Locate the derived field in the Derived Fields table that you would like to remove.
Select the delete icon () in the Delete column.
Select in the pop-up confirmation dialog. The derived field is deleted.
To delete derived fields from a data source using the Metric selection dialog:
On a visual, select the metric label (y-axis label) to view the Metric selection dialog.
Locate a derived field listed on the Metric selection dialog and select the ellipsis () next to it. The following menu appears:
Select Remove on the menu to delete the derived field.
Be sure to save the dashboard after deleting the derived field. If you close the dashboard without saving, your derived field will not be deleted.
To delete derived fields from a data source using the Group selection dialog:
On a visual, select the group label (x-axis label) to view the Group selection dialog.
Locate a derived field listed on the Group selection dialog and select the ellipsis () next to it. The following menu appears:
Select Remove on the menu to delete the derived field.
Be sure to save the dashboard after deleting the derived field. If you close the dashboard without saving, your derived field will not be deleted.
To delete derived fields from a data source using the Filters sidebar:
Select the filter icon to access the Filters sidebar for a visual or dashboard.
Select .
Locate a derived field listed on the Filters sidebar and select the ellipsis () next to it. The following menu appears:
Select Remove on the menu to delete the derived field.
Be sure to save the dashboard after deleting the derived field. If you close the dashboard without saving, your derived field will not be deleted.
