This topic provides details about the enhancements in Composer 7.1.
You can now use the API to import a dashboard using a new overwrite policy, so that dashboards with the same name are overwritten instead of being imported with a slightly altered name. A new query parameter,
strategy, has been added for the
POST /api/dashboards/import endpoint. Valid values can be
OVERWRITEto implement the new overwrite policy.
USE_EXISTING_OR_CREATEto continue to use the existing import policy (importing the dashboard with a slightly altered name). This is the default value and will be used if
strategyis not specified.
For more information about requesting the overwrite policy and its behavior, see Overwrite Policy Behavior.
This release introduces a new visual style called a bullet gauge. Bullet gauges are based on a single metric. The metric is mapped against a background bar that shows value ranges using color. A metric scale is also shown. Finally, a small vertical bar represents a marker for the target value of the metric. Bullet gauges are supported by all Composer data connectors.
For more information, see Bullet Gauges.
When Inherit from Theme is not selected for the Metric Color field in a KPI chart and you select the color in the Metric Color field to access the color dialog, an Auto Color option is now available on the color dialog.
Select the Auto Color option to have Composer automatically select the most visible metric color to use against the background color. See Configure Colors for a Specific KPI Chart.
